Fudgy Brownies

These brownies are simple to prepare and far surpass the taste of boxed mixes. Using basic ingredients, this recipe creates bakery-quality brownies that are sure to amaze. For an added touch, include chocolate chips or chopped nuts in the mix!

Makes 9 brownies

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup salted butter, melted

  • 1 cup white sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • ⅓ cup cocoa powder

  • ½ cup all-purpose flour

  • ¼ teaspoon salt

  • ¼ teaspoon baking powder


Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and flour an 8-inch square pan.


2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Beat in the cocoa, flour, salt, and baking powder. Spread batter into prepared pan.


3. Bake in the preheated oven until top is dry and edges have started to pull away from the sides of the pan, about 25 to 30 minutes. Allow the brownies to cool before cutting. Dust with powdered sugar before serving, optional.


TIPS: Cover with plastic wrap and store on the counter for 3-4 days, or in the refrigerator for a week. You can also freeze these in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
